Meet Dr. Mike Turjanica
Dr. Mike was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. As a child, you could always find him on the baseball field, football field or playing any sport with a ball. He is a proud graduate of Youngstown State University where he had the honor to play college baseball for the Penguins. From there, he went on to get his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. His passion for this profession was ignited during his early years, dealing with nagging injuries and discovering significant relief through chiropractic care. Driven by this, he set his sights on pursuing chiropractic medicine from as long ago as he can remember. He always jokes that his Plan A was to become a chiropractor, and thankfully that worked out, because he did not have a Plan B!
Upon graduation, Dr. Mike began his career in a traditional, high-volume office. However, he swiftly realized that this conventional approach did not resonate with his vision. Early in his professional journey, he grew frustrated with the cookie- cutter approach prevalent among chiropractors, often yielding unsatisfactory results. This dissatisfaction fueled his determination to establish a different
chiropractic experience, one deeply rooted in delivering the highest quality care, focused on achieving enduring results.
Over the past ten years, he has meticulously refined his unique approach to musculoskeletal care, grounded in evidence-informed decisions. Dr. Mike's approach to each patient encounter is fortified by five fundamental pillars:
1. Allocating dedicated, quality TIME with his patients.
2. Attentively LISTENING to each patient's concerns.
3. Conducting a thorough and precise examination to ascertain an ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS.
4. Implementing a COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT plan integrating soft tissue therapy, therapeutic rehab, and functional training.
5. EDUCATING his patients on how to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle, ideally reducing their long-term dependency on care.
On a personal note, he is a proud father of two children – Vinny (9) and Maria (6) – and has been happily married to his wife, Audrey, for more than a decade. You can usually find the Turjanicas at the baseball field – where Mike coaches Vinny’s team – or cheering on Maria in gymnastics. In his spare time, Dr. Mike really enjoys all forms of exercise, playing golf, and loves being a spectator of all major sports…but especially the Cleveland sports teams (sorry Cincinnati fans) along with The Ohio
State University.
